Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

One of the best ways to show everybody that your business care is to give back to charity. Kroger is one of the biggest for profit organizations that give back to charity. In 2010 Kroger gave back the highest percentage of gross profit of over ten percent in a competition of 200 companies. Kroger gave back to communities and charities over the united states $64,000,000 to Giving Hope a Hand Breast Cancer foundation, Honoring our Heroes, employing over 17000 veterans. The Kroger community rewards program helps reward members of Kroger to give back to the community. The more people spend on Kroger using the rewards card the more money goes into non-profit organizations such as schools and churches. Kroger is the founder of a charity company called Bringing Hope To The Table. This non-profit organization is a supplier of food banks and has helped over 20 states in the united states including Nevada, Colorado, California.
"In the aid of Three Square food bank Smith’s support has been unwavering – helping purchase vehicles and equipment to assist with rescuing food from local restaurants, growers and food service locations; providing operating funds; and donating valuable fresh food directly from local stores.Three Square now serves 95,000 residents each month."
"Ralphs associates visit the food bank twice each month to fill bags of food for the BackPacks program.
Before being dismissed from school on Friday afternoons, children are given a bag containing enough nonperishable, kid-friendly, nutritious food to help get them through the weekend. More than 2,400 children at 20 local schools receive help each week."
"During the critical holiday season in Georgia 2010, more than $5.3 million in food and funds was given by our customers – the equivalent of more than 20 million meals."
