Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

What is Great customer service?
The foundation of great customer service starts with getting to know what the customer wants, needs, and demands and knowing the difference between the three. Human needs are states of felt deprivation weather that would be physical needs such as food, water, clothing, Ect.. social needs for affection, or individual needs for knowledge and self-expression.Wants are the form human needs take as they are shaped by culture and individual personality. A demand is a combination of the what the customer wants and needs with the potential to buy. The product must have good value to the customer. A consumer will always consider the following when having interest in buying a new product. Does what I am purchasing satisfy my wants and needs with a reasonable price? Customer service is one of the major keys to success or failure of a company.  Great customer service comes with always treating every customer with respect even if the customer is in the wrong. For example if a customer is dissatisfied with a product and he is returning it for his money back and lost his receipt the store rules you cant get money back without a receipt the better choice for excellent customer service would to make an exception and give him the money back anyway. The loss of a regular customer over a lifetime because of a bad customer service incident could cost the company more than 10 to 20000. Zappos is one of the worlds most successful companies with over 1/3rd of the worlds population as customers. How did they get so successful? The dedication to customer service.  “We actually take a lot of the money that we would have normally spent on paid advertising and put it back into the customer experience,” says CEO Hsieh. “We’ve always stuck with customer service, even when it was not a sexy thing to do. Free delivery, free returns, and a 365-day return policy have been the cornerstone of Zappos’ customer-centric approach.
